My Daily Routine

For focus + constant improvement

Hey, it’s Myles again.

If you read my emails, you’ll know I often just talk Google ads strategies.

But I think today’s email is just as important because:

  1. Media buying requires a lot of focus

  2. Mastering it requires constant improvement

So if you’d like to increase your focus, and learn how I setup my day for constant improvement, then you’ll like this email.

07:00am

In the morning I go for a run, or do some form of cardio.

Having good cardio fitness = a lower resting heart rate.

A lower resting heart rate = better focus.

Meditation is the other thing I aim to do, but often don’t.

It increases your working memory capacity + ability to focus on something longer - two key things when you stare at numbers all day.

Sidenote - I highly recommend that you read “Hyperfocus”.

08:00am - 10:00am

These hours I dedicate to improving my business.

Improving my free resources, posting content and figuring out how I can make my service delivery better.

I work for 60min blocks, with a 10-min break in between.

After each hour I fill out a form on exactly what I did during that time, how focused I was, and how I can improve for the next hour.

10:00am - 10:30am

Client updates.

I try to send two messages to each of my clients, every day.

Usually updating them on progress of new changes, KPIs, or overview videos on Monday of what I will be changing strategy-wise.

10:30 - 11:00

Daily email. At least for the last 3-days.

11:00 - 1:30pm

Most important client tasks.

I make a list of client tasks that need doing the night before.

Just writing everything down on the page that I need to do.

Then I ask, “What would I do if I could only do one of these tasks?”

I put that task as number one, then repeat until I have a prioritised list.

1:30pm

Lunch.

I limit carbs + sugar as these derail focus.

After lunch I try to go for a walk, and process what I need to do in the afternoon.

I find that I can concentrate on tasks much better this way.

2:30pm - 5:00pm

Here’s where I do the rest of the client work in my tasks list.

I usually manage to get them all done, and then spend an hour watching YouTube videos + reading articles to improve my Google Ads skills.

Often work doesn’t end at 5:00pm though, and I’ll continue until much later depending on my workload.

6:30pm

End of day form.

Here I make a note of things I could improve about:

  • My quality of work

  • My service delivery

  • My business

This is a recent addition, after watching a video and realising the importance of reviewing + noting down things to improve.
